About Dr. Bedford
Dr. Chris Bedford is a licensed psychologist and Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology (ABSNP) with nearly two decades of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. His work at Brainsight reflects a core conviction: that every person deserves the undivided attention of a highly trained clinician, and that no two evaluations should look alike. Assessments are thoughtfully tailored to the individual—not templated— and designed to produce answers that are both clinically rigorous and practically meaningful for clients and the families and professionals who support them.

Dr. Bedford earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and completed postdoctoral training in both school neuropsychology and clinical psychopharmacology, developing deep expertise in neurocognitive assessment, executive functions, attention, and learning and memory. He previously taught graduate students at the University of St. Thomas.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Bedford is Executive Director of the American Board of School Neuropsychology and a faculty member at the School Neuropsychology Institute. He is a widely published author and editor, with contributions including Best Practices in School Neuropsychology, Second Edition (2022), Understanding and Managing Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Children and Adolescents: A Pediatric Treatment Guide (2025), and the forthcoming Essentials of D-KEFS and D-KEFS Advanced Assessment (2026) and Essentials of School Neuropsychology Assessment, Fourth Edition. He is a frequent presenter at local, regional, and national conferences, known for translating complex research and theory into language that is clear, useful, and grounded in real clinical practice.

About Dr. Pearl
Dr. Josh Pearl is a licensed psychologist specializing in neurocognitive and psychological assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. Trained as a counseling psychologist at the University of St. Thomas, he brings a humanistic and person-centered approach to assessment—one that treats evaluation as a collaborative, therapeutic process rather than a purely diagnostic exercise. His goal is for every client to leave not just with answers, but with a deeper and more empowering sense of themselves.
Dr. Pearl completed his predoctoral training across college counseling centers and community mental health settings, developing expertise in anxiety, mood, and emotion-focused interventions—a clinical foundation that informs how he understands the complex interplay between attention, learning, and mental health. He completed advanced postdoctoral training in neurocognitive assessment under the supervision of Dr. Chris Bedford, and is currently pursuing diplomate certification through the American Board of School Neuropsychology (ABSNP).
Dr. Pearl has a particular interest in working with neurodiverse adults and children, including those who have spent years wondering why things feel harder than they should—and whose difficulties may have gone unrecognized because their presentation didn't fit the expected pattern. He brings a culturally informed lens to his work and is attentive to the many ways identity and life experience shape how we understand and describe our own struggles. He is a current Section Chair for the Professional Practice of Counseling Psychology within APA Division 17, where he supports psychologists building careers outside of academia.
Outside the office, Josh is a devoted cat dad who loves cooking, coffee, and outdoor adventures including fishing, hiking, and canoeing. He also enjoys movies, photography, and spending time with friends and family.

About Dr. Dixon
Dr. Adaila Dixon is a licensed psychologist with a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of St. Thomas. She has broad professional and training experience across hospital, school-based, and community settings, where she has worked with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Dixon completed specialized predoctoral and postdoctoral training in psychological and neurocognitive assessment, most recently at Prairie Care Psychiatric Services and the Washburn Center for Children. She has also trained within Hennepin Healthcare’s Neuropsychology Service and the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, where she gained specialized experience working with individuals affected by complex medical, neurodevelopmental, and emotional concerns.

These diverse clinical experiences shape Dr. Dixon’s approach to evaluation—carefully integrating an understanding of brain-based, emotional, and contextual factors to build a full picture of each person’s strengths and challenges. She believes that assessment should be a collaborative, empowering process that helps clients make sense of their experiences and access meaningful paths toward wellbeing.

Her scholarly work explores how healing and identity intersect, as reflected in her dissertation, The Use of Gardening as a Healing and Wellness Practice for Black People.

Dr. Dixon finds joy and balance in creative, hands-on activities that connect her to nature and community—values that parallel the mindfulness and care she brings to her clinical practice. Outside of Brainsight, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, and trying out new craft projects.
